The Fédération Mondiale du Berger Belge (FMBB VZW), registered in Belgium, operates as the global governing body for the Belgian Shepherd community. This policy outlines how we handle personal data for our members, participants, officials, and visitors across all our digital platforms, including our main website and specific World Championship (WC) portals. By paying the annual membership fee, all FMBB member clubs explicitly agree to the following:

  • Public Directory: The name of the club, the represented country, and the official website/contact link (including the provided email address) will be published in the official FMBB Member List on the main website.
  • Purpose: This publication serves the legitimate interest of the FMBB to facilitate international communication and transparency within the Belgian Shepherd community.
  • Maintenance: Members are responsible for keeping their information accurate and up to date through the FMBB member portal.

3. World Championship (WC) participation & media rights

By registering for, officiating at, or attending an FMBB World Championship, all individuals (including but not limited to competitors, owners, handlers, judges, helpers, tracklayers, and volunteers) acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Photography & Filming: The event grounds are a public-interest sporting venue. You may be photographed, filmed, or recorded at any time.
  • Livestreaming: All competitions are subject to a continuous global livestream. The FMBB holds all exclusive global video and broadcasting rights. By entering the field or event area, you consent to your image and voice being broadcast worldwide.
  • Usage Rights: FMBB and its authorized partners reserve the right to use captured media for promotional, archival, and social media purposes indefinitely, without financial compensation to the person(s) depicted.

4. Publication of data & results

The FMBB processes and publishes specific data for the execution of the sporting event:

  • Public Display: Participant names, nationality, club affiliation, and the dog’s registered name/pedigree details will be published in official catalogs, start lists, and live results.
  • Historical Archive: Results and associated media form part of the official sporting record and will remain in the FMBB historical archives.

5. Anti-scraping policy & third-party liability

The FMBB values the integrity of its data but acknowledges the technical nature of the internet:

  • Protection Measures: We implement technical measures (such as rate limiting and bot detection) to prevent unauthorized automated data scraping or harvesting.
  • No Liability: The FMBB explicitly disclaims any liability for the actions of third parties who scrape, copy, or republish data from our websites in violation of our terms. We are not responsible for the accuracy or management of data once it has been moved to external, non-FMBB controlled platforms.

Sporting Integrity: Requests for the erasure of data that is part of an official competition record (results, scores, and official media) may be denied to maintain the integrity of the sporting history and the FMBB's legitimate interests.

If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority: www.dataprotectionauthority.be (contact@apd-gba.be).

You may also bring proceedings before the competent court.

This site currently does not place its own tracking or marketing cookies. When registration forms are added, strictly necessary session cookies may be used for security (for example CSRF protection).
