FMBB Privacy & Media Policy

The Fédération Mondiale du Berger Belge (FMBB VZW), registered in Belgium, operates as the global governing body for the Belgian Shepherd community. This policy outlines how we handle personal data for our members, participants, officials, and visitors across all our digital platforms, including our main website and specific World Championship (WC) portals. We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other international data protection standards.

This portal covers FMBB World Championship 2027 — Spain.

By paying the annual membership fee, all FMBB member clubs explicitly agree to the following:

• Public Directory: The name of the club, the represented country, and the official website/contact link (including the provided email address) will be published in the official FMBB Member List on the main website.
• Purpose: This publication serves the legitimate interest of the FMBB to facilitate international communication and transparency within the Belgian Shepherd community.
• Maintenance: Members are responsible for keeping their information accurate and up to date through the FMBB member portal.

The FMBB processes and publishes specific data for the execution of the sporting event:

• Public Display: Participant names, nationality, club affiliation, and the dog’s registered name/pedigree details will be published in official catalogs, start lists, and live results.
• Historical Archive: Results and associated media form part of the official sporting record and will remain in the FMBB historical archives.

The FMBB values the integrity of its data but acknowledges the technical nature of the internet:

• Protection Measures: We implement technical measures (such as rate limiting and bot detection) to prevent unauthorized automated data scraping or harvesting.
• No Liability: The FMBB explicitly disclaims any liability for the actions of third parties who scrape, copy, or republish data from our websites in violation of our terms. We are not responsible for the accuracy or management of data once it has been moved to external, non-FMBB controlled platforms.

Under the GDPR, individuals have the right to access and rectify their personal data. However, please note:

Sporting Integrity: Requests for the erasure of data that is part of an official competition record (results, scores, and official media) may be denied to maintain the integrity of the sporting history and the FMBB's legitimate interests.

This website is operated by FMBB vzw. for FMBB World Championship 2027 — Spain.

We process personal data when necessary — for example when you contact us, browse the site, or register teams and participants for the championship.

Participant and team data are stored in a central database to support registration, schedules, results and accreditation during the event.

FMBB vzw. (hereinafter the Controller) establishes this Privacy Policy to inform users in a transparent manner about this website and how personal data is collected and processed.

The term User refers to any natural or legal person who visits the site or interacts with it in any way.

As controller, FMBB vzw. determines the technical, legal and organisational means and the purposes for processing users’ personal data, in accordance with Belgian law of 30 July 2018 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The controller may engage processors that offer sufficient guarantees regarding technical and organisational security measures, in accordance with applicable law.

Use of the site may lead to the collection of personal data. Processing by the controller or by service providers acting on its behalf is carried out in accordance with the Law and the Regulation.

Personal data may be processed using the following methods:

• Registration via forms on the site (including team leader forms)
• Event and championship registrations
• Publication of results, start lists and related competition information

In accordance with Article 13 of the Regulation, the purposes of processing are communicated to the User. These include:

• Providing the information you request
• Offering you an optimal service in connection with the championship
• Informing you about FMBB and FMBB World Championship 2027 — Spain
• Registering teams, handlers and dogs for competition disciplines
• Managing participants, schedules, results and accreditation

By visiting and using the site, you agree that FMBB vzw. may collect and process personal data such as:

Name, address, date of birth, nationality, identification details, email address, telephone number, association or country, dog and handler information, competition category, payment references where applicable, and any other data you voluntarily provide through forms on this website.

By accessing and using the site, you declare that you have read and given your free, specific, informed and unambiguous consent to the processing of your personal data as described in this policy, where consent is required by law.

Consent may be given by actively confirming acceptance of this Privacy Policy (for example via a checkbox on a registration form). Such consent may be required to perform certain actions on the site or to enter into a contractual relationship with FMBB vzw.

You have the right to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Personal data are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to achieve the purposes for which they are processed, and in any case no longer than ten years, unless a shorter period applies for a specific processing activity.

Personal data may be shared with employees, subcontractors, processors or suppliers of FMBB vzw. where adequate guarantees are offered for data security and where they cooperate with FMBB vzw. for organising the championship or providing related services.

Recipients process data only for the intended purposes and in a discreet and secure manner, in line with this Privacy Policy.

If data were to be provided to third parties for direct marketing or prospecting, you would be informed in advance so that you could give prior and explicit consent.

Under the GDPR you may exercise the following rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, within the limits set by law (see also section 6 above regarding sporting records).

You may exercise your rights at any time by email to info@fmbb.be or by post to FMBB vzw., Brugsesteenweg 105, 8450 Bredene, Belgium, accompanied by a copy of your identity document if required to verify your request.

If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority: www.dataprotectionauthority.be (contact@apd-gba.be).

You may also bring proceedings before the competent court.

This site currently does not place its own tracking or marketing cookies. When registration forms are added, strictly necessary session cookies may be used for security (for example CSRF protection).

The site loads styling and fonts from external providers (Tailwind CDN and Google Fonts). These services may process technical connection data. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies on this website.
